How to find a room

Five steps, from searching to the day you move in.

    Search where you need to be

    Filter by city, price, and whatever matters to you. Private bathroom, utilities included, available now. You can also set a place you go every day and see roughly how far each room is from it.

    Read the whole listing

    Rent, deposit, utilities, and the total to move in are all there, along with the house rules and what the host asks for. If something's missing, ask before you go.

  3. 3

    Message, then go see it

    Ask your questions in the app so there's a record. Book a visit if the host posted times. Never pay a deposit on a room you haven't been inside.

    Apply

    One application covers when you want to move, your income range, references if you have them, and any questions the host asks. Verifying your ID is free and it makes hosts a lot more comfortable.

  5. 5

    Sign, take photos, move in

    If the host uses Unido for the lease, you both sign here and you keep a copy. Then take photos of the room on day one, before you unpack.
